Statement win vs. Wetzlar: 72:14 — four games, four wins
Still undefeated through Week 4: the Saints take the first-ever Regionalliga matchup with the Wetzlar Wölfe 72:14 to move to 4-0.
The Fulda Saints stay undefeated through four games: a clear 72-14 home win over the Wetzlar Wölfe at Sportzentrum Johannesberg moves the Saints to 4-0.
Wetzlar is an opponent we know well from many intense Oberliga duels — all the more reason to enjoy seeing the Wölfe again in their first Regionalliga Mitte season after promotion. The final score is lopsided, but Wetzlar fought to the end through injuries and never let up. Big respect for that.
Offensively we needed a few drives to find a rhythm — once we did, the offense rolled and put up points consistently. The defense found its footing after a tougher start, took over the game and held the shutout right up to when the backups came in. The scoreline was already 60-0 before much of our second unit got meaningful playing time — exactly the kind of game in which the whole roster grows.
