It was the tightest, most intense game of the season so far. Mainz proved an extremely strong, physical opponent that pushed the Saints for the full sixty minutes.
Fulda started well and scored early — but a handful of unforced errors briefly handed Mainz the lead. The team's response was the difference: regrouped, refocused, played disciplined football and closed the game out together.
