Pirmasens disqualified: season games awarded 36-0

The Pirmasens Praetorians have been disqualified for the season. Every season game is awarded to their opponent as a 36-0 win.

The Pirmasens Praetorians have been disqualified from the 2026 Regionalliga season. As a result, every Praetorians fixture is awarded to the respective opponent as a 36-0 win.

What happened? Pirmasens failed to appear for the home game against the Saints on June 6, citing a high number of injury-related absences. However, the AFVH (Hessian American Football Association) league regulations require that a team with 40 registered player passes must submit a minimum of 16 medical certificates — signed by a physician, filed with the association within five days of the scheduled game. Pirmasens was unable to provide the required documentation. The rules left the association no room for discretion: the forfeit process is automatic.

Pirmasens announced they would appeal the decision. In the meantime, every regular-season game was immediately converted to a forfeit loss.

Impact on the Fulda Saints: Two games are affected — the cancelled home matchup on June 6 and the road game in Pirmasens originally scheduled for August 30. Both are recorded as 36-0 wins, pushing the Saints' Group B record to 6-0.

All other Praetorians opponents this season — Marburg, Mainz, Wetzlar, and Rüsselsheim — also receive their respective forfeit wins. Pirmasens close the season with 0 wins, 10 losses and a 0:360 scoring record.

For the Saints, the focus shifts immediately to what's next: on June 21, Fulda travels to the Marburg Mercenaries — currently the only other team in Group B with a realistic shot at the title. A top-of-the-table clash with direct playoff implications.
